ABOUT ME

After spending 10+ years working in education, in just about every role imaginable (seriously, ask me about being a lunch lady), I turned to instructional design to reach a broader audience using the theories and practices of learning, development and engagement I'd picked up.

As an Instructional Designer with a background in Education I'm able to:

  • Swiftly assess the content needs of clients

  • Grow a deep understanding of the audience on the receiving end of what I create

  • Deliver solutions that communicate my client's point of view while adhering to basic learning principles

  • Present training material to individuals and groups alike

I've learned that an Instructional Designer wears no fewer hats than an Educator. My role has not been confined to writing copy for the last three years; I've been able to strategize, pitch ideas, and collaborate with UX designers to ensure user-friendly experiences. I've interviewed CEOs, archivists, brand ambassadors, and "everyday experts", learned to write for video, and moderated LIVE training experiences. I've been afforded opportunities to mentor and lead others in my company, growing from a freelancer to an associate ID and ID to Editor in under a year and a half.

What's next? More video production. More public speaking. More design collaboration. And a never-ending queue of stories to tell and people to teach.
